Put those catalogs I've collected randomly and put it to good use... In the case of this, it's some J.Crew catalog I picked out of the junk mail bin. Sometimes I think it might be fun to be an illustrator but then somebody pointed out to me that I probably don't just like drawing enough after I mentioned being disappointed with how slow I'm progressing. Might have a point there but after some thought I'm probably just not drawing what I enjoy. I know all these illustration rules are important but to be honest, I'm not so concerned with proportion and what not anymore as I am about composition..probably about time I focus on that instead.

Bloom

Had to do a scan and crop exercise for Photography class which involved scanning natural objects you picked up and creating a composition with it. Changed the colors for the not-flower. It was supposed to be white.

Cityscape

Landscape exercise for the computer graphics class. Somehow, although I utilized the perspective tool, it looks kind of off. And I only realized now that one of the buildings with blue windows would've benefited from windows of a slight different color.

bookplate illustration

Need to do two bookplates for Graphic Design History. One from before 1900 and one after. Worked on the pre-1900 one first.. Tried to go for the Art Nouveau style, highly inspired by William Bradley, but obviously failed..haha.

Here's the one with the text on it..

I might remove the border, but it seems to have been a common thing to place borders around the illustration back then..

Gonna go to bed now since it's almost 6am.. The next one should be more fun.
